The Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS) is an agricultural institute under Tribhuwan University in Nepal for college level training in agriculture and animal sciences. The IAAS originated as a school of agriculture established in 1957 in Kathmandu to train Junior Technical Assistants. In 1968 the school was upgraded to a college of agriculture.

In 1972 the college was recognized as the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science under Tribhuvan University and moved to the present location at Rampur, Chitwan in 1974. (Source : Wikipedia)

Architecture Photography, Volume 22 : IAAS (Rampur,Chitwan) I features the exterior spaces of the institutional building located at the Rampur,Chitwan, Nepal. The architect is unknown till yet i did google search but it is said by my friend that this institutional buiding was set up with the aid from US government and other countries. The architecture and the building of this IAAS institute has not been documented yet on text and photos in detail but i was actually amazed by its architectural features. In volume 22 i will be focusing more on the Exterior facade and open space that a institutional building IAAS offers

Main entrance gate consist of one mini bus stop stand to facilitate the transportation system for students and local public.

According to my friend’s statement many foreigners used to settle at this institution for teaching and research purpose. In those time and period the service of Internet was not available to communicate with the world. The post office was in fashion and this space was a must essential in this institutional building. However today it does not functions well and is not busy, the effective maintenance is not done to preserve its identity. The facade is brick exposed with maximum vertical shading devices and well ventilation. The front and main face of this post office block is oriented to west and is very near to entrance gate way.
